CSTI impresses attendees at Florence conference
Philippos Drousiotis, chairman at the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI), was invited to present the organisation and its projects at the recently held MITOMED conference which took place in Florence, Italy.
MITOMED (Models of Integrated Tourism in the Mediterranean) is a transnational project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the MED Programme 2007-2013 for Territorial Cooperation. MITOMED formally started in July 2014 and will run until the end of June 2015.
Drousiotis’ presentation was focussed on the CSTI’s work in sustainable tourism across the island with organisers and participants impressed and particularly so with the “Greening Cyprus Beaches” project.
As a result MITOMED partners are now reportedly interested in promoting the Greening Cyprus Beaches project by including it within their action plan for for the sustainable management of maritime and coastal tourism project.
