CSTI’s Revised GTPI Commitments 2026-2030

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) as a Supporting Organisation commits to:

  • Encourage participation: Support member hotels, tourism enterprises, and partners to join the GTPI and align with complementary initiatives such as Keep our Sand and Sea Plastic Free – Destination Zero Waste Cyprus and Greece and BeMed Business Club.
  • Provide guidance and capacity building: Share knowledge, best practices, and practical recommendations through workshops, seminars, awareness campaigns, and educational programs to help members, partners & students reduce plastic use and adopt sustainable alternatives.
  • Promote systemic change and circular plastics: Collaborate with local authorities, suppliers, and value chains to advance sector-wide solutions, including the use of recycled, reusable, and fully recyclable or compostable materials.
  • Monitor, communicate, and report progress: Disseminate success stories and lessons learned, while reporting annually on CSTI’s actions and the collective achievements of members and partners in reducing plastic waste.
