Savvas Perdios
Savvas Perdios was born in 1981 in Nicosia. He studied Accounting and Finance at Warwick University and International Hospitality Management at the École Hôteliere de Lausanne. Between 2008 and 2010, he worked for internationally known companies like Design Hotels in Mykonos and Kempinski Hotels in Switzerland. From January 2010 until January 2018 he worked at Louis Hotels from the position of Quality and Brand Manager. After 8 years in that position, he was promoted to Chief Operation Officer, a position which he held until he was appointed as Cyprus‘ Deputy Minister of Tourism on January 2, 2019.
Charalampos Theopemptou
Born in Nicosia on November 26 in 1955 and graduated from the Pancyprian Gymnasium in 1973 in Nicosia.
In 1980 he graduated from City University in London with a Degree in Electronic Engineering and in 1985 was appointed a Lecturer in Electronics at the state owned Higher Technical Institute – HTI.
He has organized and delivered numerous short term computer hardware related courses and has provided consultancy services.
Mr Theopemptou has been an active member in the environmental NGO “Ecological Movement” since the early 1990’s and has been elected as member of the central political committee of the Cyprus Green Party and where he has also held the post of Executive Secretary.
He served for 6 years as the Commissioner for the Environment for Cyprus
In the 2016 parliamentary elections he was elected as a member of parliament with the Cyprus Green Party – Citizens collaboration
Antje Papageorgiou

Born in Hamburg Germany, Antje Papageorgiou has been living and working in Cyprus for over 30 years. Starting in the hospitality sector with an apprenticeship at the world known Four Seasons Hotel in Hamburg, she has worked in various positions in tourism including the Touristic Marketing Company of her hometown. After studying economics in Germany and moving to Cyprus her working career included various management positions in Cypriot DMCs till joining Aeolos and the TUI Group in 1996. In 2017 TUI has taken over the whole DMC business and is now operating in Cyprus as TUI Cyprus Ltd. Antje’s responsibility as Business Support Manager includes the region Cyprus, Malta, Egypt and Middle East and she is enjoying to work in a multi international and digital environment which has always given great importance to sustainability. Her private and business interest helped her to be involved in sustainable activities like CSTI and the Ecovillage Tris Elies.
George Zittis
Climate and Atmosphere Research Center of The Cyprus Institute
Dr. George Zittis is currently an Associate Research Scientist working for the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center of The Cyprus Institute. He holds a degree in Geology and a master in Meteorology, Climatology and Atmospheric Environment from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He received his PhD in Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute in April 2015. In the past he has worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany and in The Cyprus Institute.
He is involved in a number of national and EU-funded research projects related to climate change. He is an author/co-author of more than 35 peer-review articles and book chapters.
His group provides expertise to several governmental departments, universities and NGOs in Cyprus and abroad. His research interests include: Mediterranean Climate, Climate Change and Impacts, Regional Climate Modeling, Climate Extremes, Land-Atmosphere Interactions and more. He is also very active in Climate Change Communication and Education in Cyprus.
Γιωργος Ιωαννου
Ο κύριος Ιωάννου είναι Σύμβουλος Επιχειρήσεων σε θέματα στρατηγικής, αειφορίας, ποιότητας και βελτίωσης διεργασιών. Κατά την πολύχρονη επαγγελματική του εμπειρία υπήρξε διαχειριστής μεγάλων έργων ανάπτυξης και εφαρμογής συστημάτων διαχείρισης. Παράλληλα σε θέματα αειφορίας και πιο ειδικά σε θέματα τουριστικής αειφορίας έχει αναπτύξει σημαντική δράση όχι μόνο σε επίπεδο τουριστικών επιχειρήσεων αλλά και σε θέματα προορισμού. Ανέπτυξε μεθοδολογία ανάπτυξης στρατηγικής αειφόρου τουρισμού σε επίπεδο προορισμού. Διαχειρίστηκε μελέτες σε θέματα περιβαλλοντικών επιπτώσεων των αποβλήτων μεγάλων ξενοδοχειακών μονάδων, σε θέματα διαχείρισης της επίπτωσης από το ‘All Inclusive’ καθώς επίσης και την επίπτωση της λειτουργίας μεγάλου οργανωτή ταξιδιών στην Κυπριακή Οικονομία. Επιπρόσθετα διαχειρίστηκε την ετοιμασία και διάχυση της Στρατηγικής Ιατρικού Τουρισμού της Κύπρου. Αντιπροσωπεύει τον Κυπριακό Οργανισμό Τυποποίησης στην Τεχνική Επιτροπή 228 του ISO που τυποποιεί σε θέματα υπηρεσιών τουρισμού. Πιο συγκεκριμένα συμμετέχει μεταξύ άλλων ως ειδικός στην Ομάδα Εργασίας 13 η οποία τυποποιεί για τον Αειφόρο Τουρισμό.
Theodoulos Koullapi
He is working there since 2008 making television reportage and documentaries about European, social and especially environmental issues. The last 5 years he has been an active member of the “Rethink ” campaign about effectively reducing, reusing and recycling waste in Cyprus. He had the journalistic editing of 4 documentaries about waste that CyBC produced regarding the goals of the Rethink campaign. He hosted an environmental TV show called: “Home at nature” for 3 years where a variety of stories about waste management had been broadcasted successfully. He also co-presented the morning show of CyBC for the past 5 years where along with the other daily topics, he was devoted in creating awareness about environmental issues in Cyprus.
